New phone application RendezBlu uses Bluetooth to gather the profile of people who are within 30 feet of you and also running the application. As long as your preferences match, the phone will store their profile until you either shut off your phone or upload the profiles to the web.
While currently limited to phones running Symbian S60 version 3 and Windows Mobile version 6.1, there are more platforms under development. The range is about 30ft, which is what you would expect from Bluetooth. With RendezBlu running behind the scenes on your phone, you could “meet” other people by simply being in close proximity to them, all without bringing attention to yourself from prying eyes. This little application can definitely assist people to “meet” other people in public without anyone knowing. Once at home, you can visit Rendezblu (dot) com and review your contacts in total privacy. You have the choice of deleting any profile you do not like (they will not be notified), or you can invite them for further contact. Once you’ve obtained their email address, you are free to correspond using your favorite email client and without going through the site, which is an added bonus.

You cannot add other members to your network, only the ones you have actually “met” through the application. If you shut off your phone before doing the upload, you lose all your contacts.
